A Message from the
Honorary Consul General
The Consulate for the Republic of Seychelles in Malta was set up on the 25th of January 2001 by virtue of the appointment of Dr Simon Mifsud by President France Albert Rene.
By virtue of a further Consular Commission in April 2015 signed by President James Alix Michel, Dr Mifsud was appointed as Consul General for the Republic of Seychelles for the territory of Malta.
Dr Mifsud graduated with a degree in Law in 1990 and a Masters Degree in International Commercial Law in 1991 in the UK. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1992. He is presently a Managing Director of SMS Group Ltd – a Maltese family business with varied interests both nationally and Internationally in Travel & Tourism, Shipping, Insurance as well as Education.
The Consulate is based in St. Julian’s and is very active in promoting the Seychelles as well as assisting Seychellois in Malta, especially in the areas of Education. The Consul General has also represented the Seychelles at various high level meetings including a business promotion workshop in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2002, as well as two CHOGM meetings in Malta in 2005 and 2015 as well as the Our Ocean Conference also held in Malta in 2017.

Our Consular Services
Travel
Access to detailed information when required such as Local Doctors, Hospitals, Travel Services, etc…
Support and assistance in case of injury, illness and/or other matters whereby the Consulate can act as an interlocutor where required.
Provide guidance and advice in case of emergency situations.
Consular Assistance
Provide assistance to Seychellois whilst these are visiting/residing in Malta.
Assisting and guiding Seychellois in case official Government-issued documents are required when in Malta
Supporting Seychellois when services of Local (Maltese) professionals (e.g. Lawyer) are required.
Trade Promotion

Act as an interlocutor for for foreigners willing to set-up business in Seychelles.

Provide support to Seychellois seeking to pursue academic opportunities in Malta and across the European Union.; these range from specialised vocational courses to University Degrees.

Follow-up and ensuring that close ties are nurtured and maintained between the Seychellois and Maltese business communities.
